B-rolls/VNR about tuberculosis
On the occasion of World TB day (24 March 2007) these B-rolls, from the most recent to the oldest, are made available to TV journalists by international organizations in partnership with our database. Please consult attached shotlist, download the MPEG 2 video files when available (full screen for TV broadcast)and/or watch our streaming files (lowest quality) to check content before ordering a Betacam or DVcam copy.
This annual World Day is the occasion to remember that the epidemic of tuberculosis continues to kill 1.6 million persons per year worldwide. There are 9 million new cases yearly and 1.5 million of TB patients are not well cared for because they don't access regularly to recognized treatment facilities. For this reason, the resistance of the virus against used drugs is rising. Many countries have progressed in the control of the epidemic but financial means are yet largely unsufficient to implement the solutions proposed in the Global Plan launched in 2006.
