Since early 2005 HumanWorldAVbank gathers audiovisual resources to help teachers, lecturers or NGO members illustrating their sessions about sustainable development. The economy in a wideperspective, preserving the environment, promoting sanitation, social and health standards, and cultural or human rights protection; all these issues are both key pillars for sustainable development and themes of our database. Last but not least: The promotion of peace and democracy (i.e. community participation) is part of the development process and we look towards covering that as well.

The French NGO Educasol stipulates : « Educating about development and international solidarity aims at changing mentalities and behaviours so that anyone or any group could contribute to build a sustainable world full of justice and solidarity »

To reach this objective, anyone has to understand the complexities of his or her environment as well as situations lived by those having a very different cultural or geographical identity. Audiovisual expression is more than useful to this educational goal.
